Wat Thai Wattanaram is formerly known as Wat Mae Dao Ngiew or Wat Thai Yhai, located at Moo 1 Tha Sai Luad district, 5km from Mae Sord, around 84km. If you want to appreciate the beauty of Tai Yai temple, you should visit this place.
It was established in B.E.2400 by Mr.Mung who migrated from Shan State of Myanmar to live in Mae Sot District, Tak Province. In B.E.2500, Ministry of Education declared the site to be Buddhist temple, under administration of Religion Department.
Interesting things include Maha Muni Buddha Image, simulated from the one in Manmar. Graceful golden goose statue and golden Gonwin Chedi are situating nearby. Maha Muni Buddhist chapel was built in Myanmar architectural style. There are also a movable model of the Lord Buddha, and a lot of marble buddha images in Myanmar pattern.
