Tonsai Waterfall is smaller, and easier to walk around than Bang Pae Waterfall. It is located just inside the entrance to Khao Phra Thaeo National Park, and it has a fairly easy going 2 to 3 km sign posted walking route, than goes around the back of the waterfall. While walking along the trail, visitors will see unusual tropical plants and flowers and colourful feather, singing birds.
It is recommended to take water with you on your walk and wear flat non slip shoes. After your small trek, you can can cool off in one of the natural pools or purchase some food and drink items at the small snack type restaurant. There is a car park and a National Park entrance fee is payable.
Tonsai Waterfall is located towards the Northern part of Phuket Island in Thalang. If driving towards Phuket Airport on the main Airpport Road (Thepkasattri Road, highway 402) at the Thalang traffic light light controlled crossroads turn right ( there is a sigh for Tonsai Waterfall) after around a 3 km drive you will come to the entrance to Khao Phra Thaeo National Park, where the waterfall is located.
