Sawankhaworanayok National Museum : Sukhothai, Thailand

Sawankhaworanayok National Museum is located in Muang Sawankhalok after Wat Sukothai (Wat Klang), 38 kilometers from Sukhothai and 2 kilometres further on a road on the left. The galleries are in a two – storey building with two wings.

The Sukhothai wares excavated in the ancient cities of Sukhothai and the other related wares found together are displayed on the first floor; the Buddha images exhibited according to the categories; Sukhothai, and Rattanakosin are on the second floor.

Most of the properties are from Sawanayok and Phra Sawannayok temples and some moved from the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum. Most of them are Buddha images retrieved from the pre-Sukhothai periodand artifacts from early Rattanakosin period.

To benefit an education, the first floor exhibits Sangkhalok crockery, archaeological excavations at Ban Koh Noi, Ban Pah Yang, Sri Satchanalai District, including crockery and treasures retrieved from the shipwreck in the Gulf of Thailand.
