Nong Bua Luang is a pond in Chiang Rai Province and has an elevation of 407 metres. Nong Bua Luang is situated northeast of Ban San Makhet, east of Doi Thon. Nong Bua Luang was originally a community fishing and farming area. Thailand’s northernmost province Chiang Rai has unveiled a new tourist attraction as a treat for nature lovers.
The lake was developed into a recreational spot in 2014 by the local government to cope with the growing popularity among local people and tourists. It has now been equipped with tourist facilities and activities such as rafting.
