Mein-ma-hla Kyun Wildlife Sanctuary : Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar

Mein-ma-hla Kyun Wildlife Sanctuary is a wetland reserve in Myanmar’s Ayeyarwady Delta, located in Bogale Township, Ayeyarwady Division. It was established in 1986, is classified as a mangrove ecosystem reserve and occupies an area of 137 square kilometres (52.79 sq mi).

Mein-ma-hla Kyun Wildlife Sanctuary is a wetland reserve in Lower Myanmar. It is located in Bogale Township in Ayeyarwady Division.

Mein-ma-hla means beautiful woman in Burmese, as the island is linked to a local Burmese myth. The wetland reserve is located on Mein-ma-hla island and is classified as a mangrove ecosystem reserve.

The reserve is occupies an area of 52.79sqmi and was established in 1986. The protected area has a total of 29 mangrove tree species and saltwater crocodiles.
