Bamboo Island : Krabi, Thailand Travel Attractions

Bamboo Island is a small island whose real name is Ko Mai Pai, or just Koh Phai. It belongs to the island group of Phi Phi and is situated north of the large main island of Koh Phi Phi Don from where it can be seen. The beach of Bamboo Island surrounds the whole circular island and is one of the nicest in the Krabi region.

In contrast to the other islands of Phi Phi, Bamboo Island is flat and has no steep cliffs. The centre is a forest which only to a small degree consists of bamboo. The lush green of the island is surrounded by a white, sandy beach which is up to 90 metres wide and which slopes gently into the turquoise, crystal clear water of the Andaman Sea.
