Covering a vast tract of forest land, Khao Kheow Open Zoo is located approximately 20 kilometres south of Chonburi from Sukhumvit Road. Dubbed as the biggest man-made zoo with the largest area of nearly 200 acre, the zoo is home to 300 types of animals with total 8,000 animals in the zoo.

It ranges from locals animals to safari origins. It was built in 1974 by transforming decadent forest on hills in Sriracha district to be a center for animal research and preservation as well as a tourist attraction.

Visitors can get close to the animals inside this gigantic outdoor zoo that designs each site matches to animal habits. Here is also the biggest tiger park in South East Asia which allows you to get close and even taking pictures with these beautiful big cats.

Opening hours: 10.00 a.m.- 04.00 p.m. Getting there: The zoo is located approximately 20 kilometres south of Chon Buri. Take Highway No. 3 (Sukhumvit Road).
