Kathu Waterfall is a series of drop pools and a waterfall atop more than 400 steps where you can dip your feet and have a relaxing time. It also has a hiking trail that is popular with nature lovers.
Located in a jungle path, Kathu Waterfall gives out an old, rundown feel complete with big spiders lurking in corners. Apart from spiders, you may even get to see butterflies, centipedes, and golden tree snakes. You need to trek up several steps to reach different levels of waterfalls. The area surrounding the waterfall is calm, with enough natural shade for most of the path to the highest waterfall.
If you go there during the monsoon season, you will be able to truly enjoy the ample waters and cool weather, while during the summers, you will find water trickling down the path. You could spend a couple of hours and even carry a picnic to relax amidst nature.
To reach Kathu waterfall, take the Route 4020 that connects Phuket Town and Patong. Once you reach Loch Palm Golf Club, turn onto Soi Namtok Kathu. Kathu waterfall is 2 kilometres from there.
