Situated only 2 kilometers south of town on the bank of the Kwai Noi River, Chong Kai War Cemetery is where to pay respect to the 1,740 prisoners of the World War II who didn’t have a chance to return home and rest in peace here. The site was formerly the prisoners of war camp.
Chong Kai War Cemetery is war graves of Allied Prisoners of war during the construction of Thai-Burma railway. An area covers 7 rai. There are 1,750 Commonwealth casualties of the WWII, most of them were British.
The area is decorated by beautiful tropical plants and flowers. It runs by The Commonwealth war Graves Commission.
