Chedi Yak : Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand

Chedi Yak is the second largest pagoda after Phra Boromthat Pagoda. The shape of pagoda is Lanka style. Fine Arts Department repaired it in 1975-1979. In front of the pagoda, the Temple has large Buddha statue that is sitting. In Ayutthaya period, it was called Pra Ngein or Luang Por Ngein.

The Chedi Yak is located next to Nakhon Si Thammarat Municipality Office in the edge of Rajdamnern Road. It is the second largest pagoda after Phra Boromthat Chedi. The pagoda has Lanka style. The front is enshrined of Luang Por Ngein. Big Buddha statue created by Ayutthaya artisans are believed to be holy. It was assumed that it was created by the Coat Ceree, Mon millionaire and his immigrants living in the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Around 1546, Fine Arts Department repaired Chedi in 1975. Chedi Yak is located in the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ratchadamnoen Road next to Nakhon Si Thammarat Municipality.
