The Buddha Park is a park located 25 km on the outskirts of the city of Vientiane, Laos, which gets its name from the more than 200 statues Hindus and Buddhists sprinkled on it.
This park in the tourist guides appears with the name of Buddha Park and also Xieng Khuan, however local cartels makes Xiengkuane and also Wat Xieng Khouang.
The Buddha Park is full of bizarre sculptures and constructions, all of them made in reinforced concrete. Some of these sculptures were built thanks to the donation of a benefactor, whose name was engraved on a plaque at the base of the work.
Buddha Park not only there are sculptures of Buddha, but there are also anthropomorphic sculptures, animals, gods and demons.
The name Xieng Khuan means Spirit City. The park contains over 200 Hindu and Buddhist statues. The socialist government operates Buddha Park as a tourist attraction and public park.
