Bophut is mainly famous for its two main attractions; Bophut Beach and Fisherman’s Village. The long stretch of Bophut Beach hosts a wide variety of 4-5 star resorts overlooking Koh Phangan. Bophut beach is not as wide as the neighboring Chaweng beach. Also, it becomes deeper closer to the shore, meaning more leisure activities are possible on the water, including jet-ski, jet-pack, banana boat, and parasailing. Many speedboats are moored along Bophut beach due to the proximity of Koh Phangan. Not surprisingly, the beach becomes busier during Full Moon nights when tourists transfer in between islands in crowds.
The shopping paradise of Fisherman’s Village Walking Street comes to life in the evening with Fridays being the top. Along the coziest beach road filled with little shops and restaurants, many interesting local products can be found, not to mention its entertaining street performances. Although Bophut provides a good shopping experience, the weekly market at Fisherman’s Village is an extension of that experience where more products including the rare and unique ones can be found. Another unique trait of the village lies in its unique architecture of old wooden houses which are now shops and hip eating places overlooking Koh Phangan.
