Billionth Barrel Monument was built in 1991 and was commemorated by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien on 18 July 1991.
The monument is built to commemorate the production of the billionth barrel of oil produced in the onshore oil field in Seria.
Billionth Barrel Monument is more or less one hour and 45 minutes travel by car from Banadar Seri Begawan, the capital city of Negara Brunei Darussalam.
