Angkhang hill is one of Chiang Mai’s most visited attractions, thanks to its cool weather all year round especially in the months of December to January when the temperature can be as low as a single digit celsius.
The main reason that makes Doi Angkhang a famous destination is that it is the location of Ang Khang Royal Agricultural Station, the Royal Project’s first demonstration site for researching and experimenting winter plants, fruits and flowers, established by King Bhumibol to help tribal people. Read more at Angkhang Royal Agricultural Station.
Activities on Doi Ang Khang are varied. For example, Ang Khang Natural Resort offers a wide range of activities, including a 2km-trekking into the jungle to see the waterfall and local trees, mountain biking and bird watching.
